The project idea arose from the observation of the territory and from the desire to recall the slopes of the Murge covered with olive trees. The new school adapts to the existing plant fabric, inserting itself in the free spaces among the olive trees, creating a synergy between green and built. The will is to create a permeable built environment, with learning spaces in direct contact with the greenery, oriented towards public use and exchange with the community. From this point of view, the access area, the Giardino degli Ulivi, takes on the connotation of an urban square with the school building and the Auditorium in the background and becomes a place for meeting and socialising.

L’idea di progetto è scaturita dall’osservazione del territorio e dal voler rievocare i declivi delle Murge tappezzati dagli ulivi. La nuova scuola, si adatta al tessuto vegetale esistente, inserendosi negli spazi liberi tra gli ulivi creando una sinergia tra verde e costruito. La volontà è quella di creare un costruito permeabile, con spazi di apprendimento a diretto contatto con il verde, orientati alla fruizione pubblica e allo scambio con la comunità. In questa ottica l’area d’accesso, il Giardino degli Ulivi, assume la connotazione di piazza urbana cui fanno da sfondo l’edificio scolastico e l’Auditorium e diventa luogo di incontro e socializzazione.
