NEW CLINIC FOR GENERAL PSYCHIATRY AND PSYCHTERAPY
LSK-Architekten, Darmstadt (D)
DESIGN COMPETITION – FOURTH PLACE The new building of two open sector wards of the Clinic for General Psychiatry of the Clinic Schloß Winnenden is carefully integrated into the existing overall facility of the Clinic with its high open-space qualities thanks to its placement on the east side of the property.
The new building closes off the park to the east and thus emphasizes the centrality of the palace park and its high value as a green center of the overall complex with its centrally located lake and its walking paths. Due to the pavilion-like design, the new building fits naturally into the overall complex consisting of individual buildings such as the castle to the north, the counseling and reception center to the west, or the clinic for geriatric psychiatry to the south, and completes the existing building collection within the castle park. A new circular route in the immediate vicinity of the new building offers an additional quality of stay for the patients in the countryside.
The entrance level is at a height of 284 m above sea level. NN. Due to the centered height positioning in relation to the slope, the new building fits into the existing topography and enables a functional optimization of the access routes and the internal functional areas.
