DESIGN COMPETITION – SPECIAL MENTION

Our contribution to the visitor centre of the Nonnweiler / Otzenhausen National Park Gate formulates the access to the Celtic Park and the Hundsrück-Hochwald National Park with a significant, memorable building.
The trapezoidal volume of the variable exhibition and event area encloses a visitor terrace on the upper floor with an unobstructed view of the area of the Celtic Park with the arena, the Celtic Village and the nearby Man Rock. The shape of the building points in the direction of the Celtic ring forest, a unique feature of this historic site. A plinth develops from the weathered Devonian rock that lies just below the surface of the vegetation layer.

CONCORSO DI PROGETTAZIONE  – MENZIONE SPECIALE

Il nostro contributo al centro visitatori della Porta del Parco Nazionale di Nonnweiler / Otzenhausen formula l’accesso al Parco Celtico e al Parco Nazionale Hundsrück-Hochwald con un edificio significativo e memorabile. Il volume trapezoidale dell’area flessibile per esposizioni ed eventi racchiude una terrazza per i visitatori al piano superiore con una vista libera sull’area del Celtic Park con l’arena, il Celtic Village e la vicina Man Rock. La forma dell’edificio punta in direzione della foresta anulare celtica, una caratteristica unica di questo sito storico. Uno zoccolo si sviluppa a partire dalla roccia devoniana esposta agli agenti atmosferici che si trova appena sotto la superficie dello strato di vegetazione.
