The extension of the PIT Building at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico concerns the existing structure located along the circuit’s main straight, at the start–finish line — one of the most iconic areas of the entire track. The project aims to create a new architectural volume with a strongly recognisable character, enhancing both the functionality and the overall image of the sports complex, while reinforcing and conveying the brand identity of the “Misano World Circuit” through a distinctive architectural language. The intention is to create a strong and recognisable architectural landmark, visible from the track and the surrounding area, capable of representing the spirit of innovation, speed and excellence that defines the Misano circuit.
The design includes an extension of approximately 112 metres, starting from the podium area and extending northwards, bringing the total length of the building to around 200 metres. The new construction develops over three levels, integrating harmoniously with the existing structure while introducing new spaces and functions. The ground floor accommodates six new pit boxes, each equipped with technical areas, storage rooms and services dedicated to the teams and race operations. These spaces are designed to ensure maximum efficiency and flexibility, allowing them to host different categories of motorsport competitions. The first floor is conceived as a hospitality level, featuring VIP lounges, meeting rooms and reception areas. The internal layout is designed to offer comfort, visibility and an immersive experience for guests, sponsors and event organisers. The upper-level hosts expansive panoramic terraces and viewing areas overlooking the track.
From an architectural standpoint, the project seeks to express modernity, dynamism and a strong visual identity. The façade facing the track is characterised by extensive glazed surfaces, designed to ensure an optimal visual relationship between the interior spaces and the sporting activity. On the opposite side, the building features a façade with a sinuous profile, clad in metal slats that echo the distinctive tones of the motorsport world, creating a vibrant and dynamic surface capable of changing appearance according to the light and the viewer’s perspective.

L’ampliamento del PIT Building presso il Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli a Misano Adriatico riguarda l’edificio esistente situato lungo il rettilineo del circuito sulla partenza e arrivo — una delle aree più iconiche dell’intero circuito. Il progetto mira a creare un nuovo volume architettonico dal carattere fortemente riconoscibile, capace di valorizzare sia la funzionalità, sia l’immagine complessiva del complesso sportivo rafforzando e comunicando l’identità del brand del “Misano World Circuit” attraverso un linguaggio architettonico distintivo e creando un segno architettonico forte e riconoscibile, visibile dalla pista e dall’area circostante, capace di rappresentare lo spirito di innovazione, la velocità e l’eccellenza che contraddistingue il circuito di Misano.
Il progetto prevede un ampliamento di circa 112 metri a partire dall’area del podio verso nord, portando così la lunghezza complessiva dell’edificio a circa 200 metri. La nuova costruzione si sviluppa su tre livelli, integrandosi armoniosamente con la struttura esistente e introducendo nuovi spazi e funzioni. Al piano terra sono previsti sei nuovi box, ciascuno dotato di aree tecniche, depositi e servizi dedicati alle squadre e alle operazioni di gara. Questi spazi sono concepiti per garantire la massima efficienza e flessibilità, così da poter accogliere differenti categorie di competizioni motoristiche. Il primo piano è concepito come livello di ospitalità, con sale VIP, sale riunioni e spazi dedicati all’accoglienza. L’organizzazione interna è studiata per offrire comfort, visibilità e un’esperienza immersiva agli ospiti, agli sponsor e agli organizzatori degli eventi. Al livello superiore si trovano ampie terrazze panoramiche e aree di osservazione affacciate sulla pista.
Dal punto di vista architettonico, il progetto intende esprimere modernità, dinamismo e identità visiva. La facciata rivolta verso la pista è caratterizzata da ampie superfici vetrate, studiate per garantire una relazione visiva ottimale tra gli ambienti interni e l’attività sportiva. Sul lato opposto, l’edificio si caratterizza per una facciata dal profilo sinuoso, rivestita con doghe metalliche che richiamano le tonalità distintive del mondo dei motori, generando una superficie vibrante e dinamica, capace di mutare aspetto al variare della luce e dell’angolo di osservazione.
