New housing estate for the former Questura area in Rimini – Finalist
We recently took part in a competition for a major urban upgrading project for the former Police Headquarter area in Rimini.
In order to join the integrated social housing program, it was necessary to first think of a cultural project, which would involve and give importance to the urban fabric.
For these reasons we conceived a design that would be universal and inclusive, to meet the needs of the future residents, guaranteeing privacy and a sense of security and wellbeing for everyone.
Therefore, all the apartments, divided into three blocks, have large windows and terraces overlooking the park or the inner courtyard. The heart of the three bodies is the multifunctional hall, conceived as a public space and accessible to the inhabitants of the neighbourhood too, as well as the gazebos and equipped areas located in the inner courtyards.
This new housing model not only improves the quality of life for residents in these innovative neighbourhoods, but also contributes to regenerating peripheral areas of the city, creating greater connections between the centre and the outer areas of the urban fabric.
