2010 - Urban renewal of the Ausa Park and New Bridge, Rimini (I)

The project is aimed at improving the urban quality of the area around the new Rimini Congress Centre. To this purpose, this intervention plans an urban renewal of the Ausa Park to be extended with a green belt revolving around the new Congress Centre and the realisation of a bridge connecting the complex with Rimini Old Fair street.
Defined as “green belt”, the new park pass under the bridge allowing the continuity of the walkways and cycle tracks. Furthermore, a second small lake enriches the surrounding landscape.
The "Ausa Park" new bridge has been designed by the studio von Gerkan, Marg & partner from Hamburg, in cooperation with mijic architects. Conceived for the transit of pedestrians, cars and bicycles, the bridge is thought to follow the new Rimini Congress Centre development needs and the masterplan for the Ausa Park for the surrounding area. The constructive system is prefabricated, linked up to reinforced concrete curves and marble slabs in Jura, allowing an harmonic dialogue with the landscape and the Congress Centre new building.
