2008 - Golf Hotel & SPA Resort, Sardinia (I)
The project that includes the Golf Hotel and Spa Resort is located in the northern part of Sardinia, in a prestigious area in proximity to the coast. The site is known for its characteristic natural elements, presenting extensive wood and rocky areas and disused quarries zones.
On the basis of the results of a specific morphological study, the project concentrates the intervention in marginal zones, namely disused quarries and rocky areas, in order to protect the green areas and valorise the surrounding landscape. To this purpose, typical natural or artificial land marks are emphasised as symbols of the site identity.
With regard to our case, the project identifies three constructive typologies, differentiating for formal elements and use of space:
1. Villas (rocks at surface level). High comfort and prestige residential area with original and contemporary shapes inspired at traditional elements of the Sardinian architecture.
2. Hotel and Spa resort (located around a central rocky element). In harmony with the surrounding area, the complex is composed by a single body hosting a 4 and 5 stars hotel with a distinctive organic appearance.
3. Village (disused quarries area). A new residential complex is realised on a sequence of terraces adopting a smart use of alternation. Even though characterized by density differences, the intervention is naturally incorporated with the surrounding landscape.
