The scenic qualities of the site, which is set against the skyline of Frankfurt, led to a cable-stayed bridge that does not interfere with the view of the city and, at the same time, is a strong signal, a "totem" of the imminence of the city. The bridge for use by vehicular and pedestrians is constituted by a trellis in shaped concrete, supporting a bridge deck out of steel through double steel cables. The construction system do not need any posterior tie for stabilization of the lattice.
The bridge is 215 m long and 21.5 m wide.
